History

Colclough China Limited was founded in 1890 by Herbert Joseph Colclough The Company received a licence to produce Royal Vale china after a visit in 1913 by King George V and Queen Mary.
In the 1930's the company started to produce tea and dinner ware.

The company took over Booths and Adderley in 1948 and in the early 1950's merged with the Ridgeway Company Colclough and Ridgeway became part of the Royal Doulton Group in the early 1970's In 1996, Colclough production was discontinued.
